American Protesters Rap CNN Coverage of Paris Attacks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of American protesters amassed in front of the CNN studios in New York City to condemn biased coverage of the US media when reporting about terrorism.
The activists on Sunday said the CNN coverage of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, France and Beirut, Lebanon was an example of the unfair reporting by Western media.
Protesters held banners and chanted slogans against the misuse of terrorism to spread 'racism and war.'
One of the speakers at the rally, Greg Butterfield of the International Action Center, pointed out that the media monopolies "tell the narrative they want the world to know", RT ruptly reported.
Despite being a peaceful and small protest rally, a significant number of police officers were deployed at the site, though no incidents were reported.
At least 130 people were killed and more than 350 injured, 99 critically, after a series of coordinated attacks were carried out at six different locations across Paris on Friday evening.
Also on Thursday, two powerful explosions went off in the Bourj al-Barajneh suburb of Beirut, Lebanon, killing at least 44 people and injuring more than 240 others.
Although both attacks were claimed by the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group, they received differing levels of coverage from Western media outlets.
ISIL terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, now control parts of Syria and Iraq. They have been engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
