Iran’s weightlifter Snatches Silver at World Weightlifting Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Kianoush Rostami from Iran claimed a silver medal in the 2015 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday.
The Iranian lifter hoisted 173kg in the snatch and 214kg in the clean and jerk and won the silver with an overall total of 387 kg.
Russian Artem Okulov and Apti Aukhadov won the gold and bronze medals respectively.
Okulov won the gold with 176kg in the snatch and 215kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 391kg.
Aukhadov lifted 168 kg in the snatch, 212 kg in the clean and jerk and combined total of 380 kg.
