Syrian Military Kills Beirut Twin Blasts Accomplice

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian security forces eliminated an accomplice of November 12 terrorist attacks in the southern suburbs of Beirut that claimed the lives of over 40 people, local media reported Thursday, citing a source.

On November 12, twin blasts hit Beirut’s Burj al-Barajneh neighborhood. At least 41 people died and over 200 were injured. The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The destroyed perpetrator of the attack was responsible for transferring two suicide bombers, who committed the two blasts, the Lebanese Al-Manar television channel said.

According to the source, the special operation was conducted with the help of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement, which has been fighting alongside Damascus against ISIL extremists and other militant groups since 2011.

Lebanese security services had earlier detained seven Syrians and two Lebanese citizens, alleged organizers and accomplices in the terrorist attacks in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
