Iran Handball Team Finishes 2nd at Olympic Games Qualifier
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Qatar 28-19 in the final match of the 2015 Asian Qualification Tournament on Friday.
Iran had already lost to host Qatar 32-17 in the preliminary round.
Also, Bahrain defeated South Korea 34-21 in the bronze medal match.
Qatar qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio as the best Asian team.
Iran and Bahrain still have chances to qualify for Olympic Games through qualifications.
Iran defeated Oman 39-31, Uzbekistan 33-18, Japan 31-27, Saudi Arabia 30-24, and Bahrain 35-30 respectively in the event.
The handball tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will consist of twelve men and women teams each.
