According to a report carried by Reuters on Friday, the "Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act," is an attempt by Republicans to violate terms of the landmark deal with new legislation because they could not muster enough opposition to scuttle it last year.
The measure, which was approved by a voice vote on Thursday, will be considered by the full House next week, it added.
It would increase American lawmakers' oversight of the Iran agreement announced in July.
On December 2, the IAEA released a report on Iran’s past nuclear activities, saying it has found no indications of diversion of nuclear material related to the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) in Iran's nuclear program.
In its report, the UN nuclear monitoring body said the alleged suspected activities in Iran's nuclear program "did not advance beyond feasibility and scientific studies, and the acquisition of certain relevant technical competences and capabilities."
