The implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a victory and triumph for the world, Iran’s friends in particular, President Rouhani said in a Tuesday telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro.
He stressed that Iran-Venezuela relations should be boosted in all spheres with the removal of anti-Iran sanctions by grasping the opportunities in the post-sanctions era.
The president further said that Iran is keen to enhance the level of its cooperation with Latin America, particularly Venezuela, in the new era.
Maduro, for his part, congratulated Iran on the implementation of the nuclear accord, hailing it as a victory for all sovereign nations across the globe.
He added the nuclear deal’s implementation will open up new horizons for closer Tehran-Caracas cooperation.
The implementation of the JCPOA was officially announced on Saturday by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini.
The announcement was made after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed Iran’s commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
