The Syrian army’s liberation of villages in Latakia’s suburb has prepared the ground for retaking Idlib, which is the bastion of the al-Nusra Front terrorist group, Ali Maqsoud, a Syrian military expert told Tasnim.
On Saturday, Syrian forces liberated Rabia town, which lies in the northern part of the Latakia province and close to the border with Turkey.
Rabia served as a major stronghold for the Takfiri terrorists, and its capture gave the Syrian army the upper hand in its drive into northern parts of Latakia.
Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with Takfiri terrorists from various groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIL) and al-Nusra Front, currently controlling parts of it.
