JCPOA Brought Int’l Nuclear Cooperation with Iran: FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hailed the outstanding features of a lasting nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers, saying the deal obligated the countries to launch nuclear cooperation with Iran.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) not only proved the legitimacy of Iran’s nuclear program, but also obligated the parties to the agreement to cooperate with Iran in the nuclear field, Zarif said at a conference in Tehran on Saturday.

The conference was held to discuss the opportunities provided by the nuclear agreement.

The greater achievement, Zarif added, was that the JCPOA put an end to the situation of costly relations with Iran.

“The post-JCPOA atmosphere allayed concerns about cooperation with Iran to a great extent,” the foreign minister noted.

The JCPOA, which was finalized by Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) in July last year, took effect on January 16.

Based on the agreement, all nuclear-related anti-Iran sanctions have been removed.
