UEFA's Gianni Infantino to Visit Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Current UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino will travel to Tehran, the capital of Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The FIFA presidential candidate will meet head of Iran Football Federation, Ali Kaffashian, during his one-day trip.

He will reportedly meet Iran coach Carlos Queiroz on Wednesday.

Infantino is one of five candidates for the FIFA presidency, facing competition from Asian Football Confederation president Sheikh Salman of Bahrain, former FIFA vice president Prince Ali of Jordan, former FIFA official Jerome Champagne of France, and South African businessman Tokyo Sexwale.

FIFA presidential election will take place in Zurich on February 26.
