Iraqi Politician Lauds Ayatollah Khamenei’s Unique Leadership

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iraqi politician and former official praised Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for his impeccable conduct in a the face of a raft of challenges that Iran has been facing after demise of late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s leadership is a “historic, unique and matchless” state of directorship that is full of prudence, rationality and balance, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, a prominent Iraqi politician who served as the national security adviser from 2004 to 2009, told the Tasnim News Agency.

He also noted that the challenges Iran has faced during Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership are very different from those during Imam Khomeini’s era.

Rubaie added that he had been concerned about who could succeed a hero like Imam Khomeini, saying he was surprised to see that Ayatollah Khamenei has been a perfect successor to the late Imam Khomeini.

He then described the Islamic Revolution in Iran as an event that triggered fundamental changes in the Islamic world’s social, cultural and political infrastructures.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year on February 11, millions of Iranian people of different social strata, carrying flags and banners in support of the Islamic Republic, pour into the streets in nationwide mass rallies to commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
