Iran Backs Talks Aimed at Improving Global Oil Market: Deputy Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Masoud Hashemian said Wednesday that the country supports any negotiations to boost the current conditions in the global oil market.
Iran supports any negotiations that are able to help the market, Hashemian said at a press conference in Moscow.
"… this market is not good for producers and consumers… many producers want the world oil market to be stronger," he added, Sputnik reported.
Earlier, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh had said that Iran supports talks and cooperation with OPEC member states for enhancing the conditions of the global market.
“We support any form of dialogue and cooperation with OPEC member states including Saudi Arabia,” Zanganeh told reporters on Tuesday.
It comes after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 finalized a comprehensive deal on Tehran’s nuclear program and implemented it on January 16.
The comprehensive nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions on Iran after coming into force.
