World Eager to Develop Ties with Iran: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the good international atmosphere in favor of the Islamic Republic, saying all countries are keen for closer relations with Iran as the 1979 Islamic Revolution has been stabilized and the country keeps making progress.

“Today, the whole world and all world powers admit in one way or another to their mistakes (in dealing with Iran) over the past 37 years. The whole world and major countries are eager for interaction and good relations with the great Iranian nation,” President Rouhani said Thursday in an address to a huge gathering of ralliers at Tehran’s Azadi (freedom) Square, held to mark the 37th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

The president also highlighted the suitable international conditions for cooperation with Iran and performing joint projects.

He underlined that the world public opinion has now realized the baselessness of the anti-Iran propaganda campaign mounted by the Zionists, the global arrogance and the US.

“The people of Iran favor peace and seek stability and security in the region and the world,” the president added.

He further made it clear that development and progress in Iran hinge on national consensus, stressing the need for a “national joint action” for the country’s development.

The president then called on all Iranians to cast their votes in the upcoming elections, stating that the Iranian people’s votes will have far-reaching effects on the country, the region and the world.

Earlier this week, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also noted that massive participation of people in the upcoming elections as well as rallies marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory secure the country against hostile schemes.

Massive turnout in the polls will give more dignity to the country and the Establishment and safeguard them, Imam Khamenei underlined.  “Hence, it is everyone’s duty to cast their ballots.”

Iran is going to hold the Assembly of Experts and the parliamentary elections simultaneously on February 26.
