Iranian Teams Win Asian Club Taekwondo Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian men’s Shahrdari Varamin and women’s Kan teams claimed the titles of the 6th Asian Club Taekwondo Championships on Saturday.

In the competitions held in Sharjah, the UAE, Shahrdari Varamin won the title with five gold and three silver medals bagging 50 points.

Kazakhstan finished in second place with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal, claiming 37 points and the UAE’s Al-Nassr came third with 13 points.

In the women’s section, Iran’s Kan and Kourosh finished in first and second place with 48 points and 22 points respectively followed by Kazakhstan’s team (12 points).

Kan bagged six gold, one silver and one bronze medal and Kourosh won one gold, two silver and five bronze medals.

Shahrdari Varamin’s Abolfazl Yaghoubi was chosen as the Most Valuable Player.

Shahrdari Varamin coach Payam Khanlarkhani was named as the best coach of the competition in the men’s country and Kan’s Azadeh Yasaei was chosen as the best women’s coach.
