Iran’s President to Visit Pakistan, Iraq, Austria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to pay visits to Pakistan, Iraq and Austria in the next few weeks, an official announced.

Head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce Mohsen Jalalpour said on Sunday that the president's tour will begin in the second week of the Iranian month of Farvardin (March 20-April 19).

President Rouhani is scheduled to go to Islamabad first, before heading to Baghdad and Vienna.

Jalalpour said his organization is making some preparation for the deployment of three major economic delegations with the high-ranking political teams accompanying the president in the upcoming tour.

Back in January, President Rouhani made landmark visits to France and Italy, days after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

There has been growing enthusiasm for closer ties with Iran after the JCPOA took effect on January 16, terminating all nuclear-related sanctions against Iran.
