Iran Basketball Faces Uphill Task to Advance to Olympics: Bauermann
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national basketball team's coach Dirk Bauermann said his men will have a difficult task to book a place at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Iran has been drawn in Group A of the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) along with Greece, Mexico.
“In early July, we will travel to Italy to participate at an Olympics qualifying tournament. It is very difficult, but we have the chance to book a place at Rio Olympics,” Bauermann told nwzonline.de.
Bauermann does not rule out a move back to Bundesliga in the future.
“I've always said that I'm open to anything and would not rule anything but at the moment I concentrate on working with the Iranian national team,” the German coach added.
