In a ceremony in Tehran attended by Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, several military vehicles, devices, and weapons were unveiled and delivered to the force's units.

An optimized Chieftain Tank, a test station for TOW missile launcher, vehicles for carrying ammunitions, and Bahman 57 self-propelled wheeled air defense system were among the systems and vehicles unveiled in the ceremony.

NRBC (nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical) is a multi-purpose vehicle designed to carry out missions in recognition, sampling and decontamination.

The achievements were unveiled ahead of the National Army Day, which will be marked across the country on Sunday, April 17.

A series of new homegrown weapons will be also unveiled during the Army Ground Forces’ drills, including 4 major war games, planned to be staged later in the current Iranian year (March 2016- March 2017).

Speaking at a Monday press conference in Tehran, General Pourdastan said the first of the four major war games will be held on May 23, at the Nasrabad region in the central province of Isfahan.

In addition to the four war games, 17 specialized drills will be held to practice tactics in the field of missiles, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), modern wars, airborne and hostage rescue operations, the commander added, noting that five more drills will be also staged in preparation for crises and natural disasters.
