Iran’s Khojasteh Wins Silver at Asian Judo Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Alireza Khojasteh from Iran claimed a silver medal in the 2016 Asian Judo Championships on Friday.
The 19-year-old surprising star was defeated against Mongolian Altansukh Dovdon in the -66kg weight category.
“It was a great experience for me since it’s for the first time I participate in the Asian championships. I cannot say I am happy for winning the silver medal because I should have won the gold medal,” Khojasteh said.
Bronze medal went to Kazakhstan’s Yeldos Zhumakanov and Davaadorjiin Tomorkhuleg from Mongolia.
The two-day 2016 Asian Judo Championships kicked off in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 15.
