In the meeting with new French Ambassador François Sénémaud, the top Iranian diplomat called for the implementation of the several agreements the two countries have signed during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s January trip to Paris.

The French envoy, for his part, stressed the need for the facilitation of banking relations between Tehran and Paris according to the international norms and within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) that took effect on January 16.

In another meeting, Montenegro’s new ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Zarif, calling for closer tourism ties between Tehran and Podgorica with easier visa regime and better flight services.

Later on Sunday, in a meeting with Icelander envoy, Zarif said the JCPOA has opened up new opportunities for Tehran and Reykjavik to strengthen economic and trade ties and promote interaction between their private sectors.

Iceland's new Accredited Ambassador Hermann Örn Ingólfsson, for his part, voiced the Nordic island nation’s willingness to invest in diverse fields in Iran, as in energy, technology and agriculture.

And in another get-together with Slovekia’s ambassador, Zarif expressed Tehran’s readiness to enhance relations with Bratislava within the framework of the European Union regulations.

The Slovak diplomat, for his part, urged the need for closer cultural and academic interaction between the two countries.
