Iran, Poland Officials Urge Closer Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and the Polish prime minister's representative for international dialogue stressed the necessity for closer cooperation between the two countries in various areas of economy and politics.

In their meeting held in the Polish capital of Warsaw on Monday, Rahmani Fazli and Anna Maria Anders exchanged views about a range of issues, including ways to boost bilateral relations between Iran and Poland.

Rahmani Fazli praised the arrangements made for a cooperation agreement between the two countries on the fight against organized crimes and stressed the need for strengthening bilateral ties in other areas, including economy, as well.

During the meeting, the two officials also agreed that efforts be made to facilitate relations between the two countries’ provinces and tapping into their potentials in such fields as trade, culture and tourism.

According to Iranian Ambassador to Poland Ramin Mehmanparast, the volume of trade between Iran and Poland is currently around €100 million annually, but the two countries plan to boost the figure to €1 billion in the short term.
