Iran Beach Soccer Loses to Italy Twice
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran beach soccer team suffered its successive defeat against Italy on Thursday.
The Italian team defeated Iran 5-4 after extra time at the Domusbet Arena in Catania thanks to a goal from the usual Gabriele Gori.
He previously scored a hat-trick to decide the first friendly which was played on Tuesday and ended 4-3 to the Azzurri.
The match was an almost identical copy of the first match between Italy and Iran, with the visitors going ahead and Italy chasing from behind.
After going 2-0 down in the first half and 3-1 in the second period of play, Italy was able to come back. In the third period, with Iran once more in the lead, Italy first scored the equalizer with 20 seconds to go of normal time before then converting the winner from the penalty spot in extra time to make it 5-4.
