Enemies Would Be Surprised by Iran’s Defense Capabilities: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said the adversaries are not aware of Iran’s military power in its entirety, stressing that they would be astounded by the defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic.

“The enemies of the Islamic Republic, and on top of them the Americans, Zionists and British, know of part of Iran’s power in different fields such as defense and missile (power),” General Jazayeri told the Tasnim News Agency in an interview.

“Fortunately, because we rely on (domestic potentials in developing the defense power), the enemies do not know about parts (of Iran’s defense capabilities) and will not know about them any time soon, unless something happens,” the senior commander stated.

In that case, he said, it may be necessary that some of these capabilities be put into action and that would take the enemies by surprise seeing how the Islamic Republic has advanced in defense fields so rapidly.

General Jazayeri further said that Iran has very good deterrence power and can very well defend itself but that the country, in accordance with its defense doctrine which is based on Islamic teachings, will never initiate a conflict.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities.

Tehran has made it clear that its military power poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

Iranian official have also reiterated time and again that any aggression would draw the country’s crushing response, which would make the enemies regret their move against the Islamic Republic.
