Intercontinental Futsal Cup: Iran’s Tasisat Suffers Second Loss

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Tasisat Daryaei suffered its second defeat in a row at the 2016 Futsal Intercontinental Cup Saturday night.

Tasisat, who was defeated against FC Barcelona Lassa 4-2 in its opening match, lost to Carlos Barbosa 4-3 in Group A in Doha, Qatar.

Alireza Vafaei, Mohammadreza Sangsefidi and Vahid Shamsaei were on target for the Iranian team.

Tasisat Daryaei  will face Dinamo Moscow Sunday night.

Group B comprises Spanish futsal league champion Inter Movistar, Libertadores Cup winner Magnus Futsal and Portuguese champion Benfica.

Two teams from a group make it to the semi-final stage.

In its 15th edition, the Intercontinental Futsal Cup is considered to be one of the best club’s tournaments in the world. The inaugural edition of the tournament was held at Porto Alegre in Brazil in 1997 when Sport Club Internacional of Brazil won the title beating FC Barcelona 4-2 in the final.
