Iranian Parliament to Probe into Deaths of Soldiers in Bus Accident

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian parliament has formed a committee to investigate into the deaths of 19 soldiers of the Army in a bus accident south of the country, a lawmaker said.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency on Sunday, Masoud Goodarzi said the committee has been established by the representatives of the cities of Fars Province and is slated to probe into the deadly accident in Neyriz, in the southern province.

The committee will prepare a report on the incident and submit it to the presiding board of the parliament in the near future, the MP added.

On Thursday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered a message of condolence on the deaths of the 19 soldiers and ordered his ministers to make whatever efforts possible to address the problems of the injured and the families of the victims.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a bus carrying soldiers rolled over on a road linking the southern cities of Shiraz and Kerman, killing 19 passengers and injuring 23 others.
