Iran’s Zarif Wraps Up Ecuador Visit with 3 Agreements

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described his Wednesday trip to Ecuador as satisfactory, saying three major cooperation agreement were signed during his stay in Quito.

The top Iranian diplomat left Ecuador for Chile early Thursday, expressing satisfaction with the meetings he had with senior Ecuadorian officials, attended by a big delegation of Iranian business people.

He also told reporters that three cooperation agreements were signed in Ecuador on banking ties and agriculture.

Zarif had separate meetings with Ecuador’s president, parliament speaker and foreign minister in Quito, and also attended a gathering with the Iranian nationals residing in the South American country.

Heading a 120-strong delegation of business people and economic officials, Zarif is now in Chile’s Santiago in the fourth leg of his six-nation tour of Latin America, which will take him to Bolivia and Venezuela later.

He had visited Cuba and Nicaragua before Ecuador.
