Syrian Forces Fully Liberate Key District South of Aleppo

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Syrian army troops supported by allied forces regained full control over Ramouseh District south of the country’s northern city of Aleppo, tightening the siege on rebel-held parts of the strategic city.

According to Tasnim dispatches, the Syrian forces in a massive operation on Thursday managed to enter Ramouseh and clear the key area from foreign-backed terrorists.

The army troops and Resistance Forces advanced on Ramouseh from three fronts and managed to lay a siege on the rebel-held districts in Aleppo.

The recapture is a major blow to the terrorist groups, reversing the gains they had made in the area last month.

According to sources in the battlefield, the Syrian troops are also clashing with Terrorists in Khan Tuman in the southern suburbs of Aleppo.

Syrian forces are busy fighting to fully recapture Aleppo from terrorists. The security forces encircled Aleppo on July 17 after closing off the last terrorist-controlled route into the city.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
