Commander Vows Crushing Response to Any Threat against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan warned the enemies of a very harsh response in case of any threat made against the country.

If any threat is posed against Iran via a proxy war, both the assailants and the countries supporting them will receive a crushing response, the top commander said in a military ceremony in Tehran on Monday.

The general then made it clear that Iran’s doctrine is based upon defense and deterrence, but underlined that aggressors will receive a severe blow if they dare attack Iran.

Back in August, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also cautioned the adversaries that Iran’s response to any assault will not be confined to defense alone, but aggressors will face a crushing response.

And in May 2015, Imam Khamenei made it clear that the Iranian nation will not let any possible act of aggression against the country go unanswered.

“The era of hit and run has ended” and the Iranian nation will chase aggressors, the Leader said at the time.
