Iran Advances to AVC Cup Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s national B volleyball team defeated Japan in the 2016 AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation) Cup for Men on Monday.
The Iranian team beat host Thailand 3-1 (25–22, 28–30, 25–20, 25–16) to book a place in the competition’s semi-final.
Iran has already defeated Australia (3-1), Japan (3-0) and South Korea (3-0) in the event.
The team has been scheduled to face Japan on Tuesday while China meet Chinese Taipei in another semis.
The 2016 AVC Cup for Men is the 5th edition of the AVC Cup for Men, being played by top eight teams of the 2015 Asian Championship. It is being held in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from 22 to 28 September 2016.
