My Players Played with Hearts against Japan, Iran Volleyball Coach Shahnazi Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran volleyball coach Naser Shahnazi praised his players after booking a place at the AVC Cup final match.

Iran B team beat Japan 3-2 (25-21 17-25 25-20 23-25 15-11) in the semi-final of the 5th AVC Cup at the Nakhon Pathom Gymnasium in Thailand. Iran had already defeated Japan 3-0 in the preliminary round.

“Before this match, we learned that it would be totally different from the first round. Japan is a very good team with strong players. They spiked well with good defence,” Shahnazi said.

“It was our fifth match in this tournament and it became more difficult with more pressure. My players played with hearts. I appreciated my players’ hard working in this match."

"We lived together for seven months and trained together for a possible best performance in this tournament,” he added.

“We are like the same family. I would like to thank all team staff, all players and I would like to give this credit for success to their families. I hope that my players will be successful and we will try to do our best in the final,” Shahnazi concluded.
