Agreement on Nuclear Safety Signed by Iran, Switzerland in Vienna
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An agreement was signed between Iranian and Swiss officials in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Wednesday for boosting mutual cooperation between the two sides in the field of nuclear safety.
The document was signed by the countries’ top nuclear safety officials at the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Vienna.
As regards the deal, Nasser Rastkhah, the head of Iran’s Nuclear Safety System Center, said that the agreement has been signed following Iran’s nuclear deal with the group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).
Rastkhah signed the accord alongside Hans Wanner, the director general of the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate.
He further added that the agreement with Switzerland shows that “Iran and world countries are moving towards international interactions.”
“The pact came about on the back of Switerland’s proposal and will be a prelude to cooperation, which would take place in the area of nuclear safety,” he noted.
