Mighty Iran Beaten by Poland in Kabaddi World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Unbeaten Iran lost to Poland in the Kabaddi World Cup on Monday.
Asian giant was defeated against minnow Poland 41-25 in a league clash at the TransStadia in Ahmadabad.
Captain Michal Spiczko led from the front and scored 12 points to lead Poland to a memorable victory.
The loss may also change the equations for the semi-final. If Thailand beat Japan in its last game of Group B on Tuesday, it will replace Iran from the top of the table.
In such a scenario, Iran could end up playing Group A topper South Korea in the semis while second-placed India could have an easy outing against Thailand.
