Iran Advances to Kabaddi World Cup Final

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran ended South Korea’s unbeaten run in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup, defeating the team 28-22.

On Friday, the Iranian team beat Korea in the event’s semi-final at the stadium of TransStadia in Ahmedabad, India.

The Korean team was favorite to win the title since the team had defeated seven times Kabaddi World Cup champion India by 2 points (32-34) in its opening match.

Meraj Sheykh was the top scorer for Iran as he finished with seven points followed by Abozar Mighani adding four crucial points for his side.

Iran will play the winner of India vs Thailand on October 22.
