Iran’s Hossein Soltani Bags Silver at IWF Youth World Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim)– Hossein Soltani claimed a silver medal at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth World Weightlifting Championships.
On Saturday, the Iranian 15-year-old weightlifter won the silver medal with a total lift of 295kg.
Soltani managed 131kg in snatch and 164kg in clean and jerk.
Gold medal went to American weightlifter Clarence Cummings Jr who lifted 317kg (135kg +182kg).
Ferhat Yazici from Turkey won the bronze medal with 291kg.
Iran, headed by Hossein Barkhah, has participated in the event with eight lifters.
The competition got underway in Penang, Malaysia from October 19 to 25.
