Civilians Flee Militant-Held Areas in Aleppo

DAMASCUS (Tasnim) – Dozens of Syrian civilians managed to flee militant-held eastern parts of Aleppo, after government forces and their allies closed in on Takfiri terrorist groups’ strongholds from different directions.

According to Tasnim dispatches, 48 civilians fled on foot toward areas held by the Syrian army late on Monday following the opening of safe passages by the army in Aleppo.

The civilians were warmly received by the northwestern city’s general governor and local officials. Medics of Syrian Arab Red Crescent Center also rushed to help the wounded individuals.

Later, the civilians fleeing the terrorists’ atrocities confirmed that they had been prevented from leaving the city earlier.

According to the latest reports, the Syrian forces have been equipped with new weapons, and are gearing up to make the final push to liberate eastern areas of Aleppo from the grip of the Takfiri militants

The army troops have launched major attacks against the militants from different directions.

Aleppo, Syria’s second largest city, has been divided between government forces in the west and the militants in the east since 2012. In an attempt to free the trapped civilian population and to end the militants’ reign of terror in the east, the Syrian army, backed by Russian fighter jets, began a major offensive on September 22.
