Iranian, Bosnian Officials Mull Visa-Free Regime

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic discussed plans for lifting visa requirements for the two countries’ travelers.

In a meeting with visiting Bosnian president in Tehran on Tuesday, Larijani highlighted the role of tourism in the expansion of economic relations between Tehran and Sarajevo.

He underlined that lifting visa requirements for travels between Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina would greatly help the two countries unleash the potential for economic interaction.

For his part, Izetbegovic asserted that visa-free travels and implementation of the previous bilateral agreements would contribute to closer economic ties.

He also noted Iran can establish joint companies with Bosnia and Hercegovina to gain access to the huge market of the European Union.

The Bosnian president arrived in Iran on Tuesday for an official visit. He had meetings with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.
