Islamic Solidarity Games: Iran’s Norouziyan Claims Gold at 50m Rifle 3 Postition
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Pourya Norouziyan took the top honors for Iran’s seventh gold medal of the Islamic Solidarity Games on Tuesday.
Norouziyan won the gold medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Position competition with 454.6 Points.
His compatriot Hossein Bagheri settled for silver with 451.1 points.
The bronze medal went to Hamed Al Khatri from Oman who scored 440.3 points.
Narjes Andevari Emamgholinejad in the 10-metre air rifle, karate fighters Nasrin Dousti and Sajjad Ganjzadeh, judoka Saeid Mollaei, Najmeh Khedmati at the women's 50m rifle 3 positions and Golnoush Sebghatollahi at the women's 10m air pistol have previously won six gold medals for Iran.
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
