Persepolis Showed Nerves of Steel against Al Ahli: AFC


TEHRAN(Tasnim) – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) site lauded Persepolis of Iran’s performance in second leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-final.

On Tuesday, 10-man Persepolis defeated Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia 3-1 and advanced to the ACL semis.

“Islamic Republic of Iran’s Persepolis, having come from two goals down in the first leg to force a 2-2 draw, showed nerves of steel as they defeated Al Ahli 3-1 in the return tie,” the-AFC wrote.

“Persepolis' second and third goals came from late penalties, as Godwin Mensha and Mahdi Taremi kept their cool to convert from the spot,” the site added.
