Yemen Army Kills Dozens of Saudi-Led Forces in Najran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s army troops and fighters from popular committees inflicted major losses on Saudi soldiers and mercenaries in a counterattack in the kingdom’s southwestern border region of Najran, a report said.

Yemeni troops clashed with Saudi troops after they attempted to target Yemen’s military posts in the direction of Rakabat Marach in Hammad, Saba news agency reported.

Scores of the Saudi forces were killed and injured during the counterattack, and two of their military vehicles was also destroyed.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out attacks against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Thousands of Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.

The Saudi-led war has also created a cholera epidemic as well as leading the country to the brink of an entirely preventable famine
