Iran to Host 1st Junior World Kabaddi Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The inaugural edition of the 1st Junior World Kabaddi Championship will take place from November 9 to 15 in Kish Island, Iran.

A total of 16 teams around the world will take part at the competition.

Iran, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taipei, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Denmark, Kenya, Uganda, Canada, Australia as well as Iraq will take part in the competition.

Host Iran will undoubtedly start as the favorite to clinch the title, heading into the first-ever Junior World Cup.

The inaugural edition of the Junior World Cup will be contested in an approach to involve multiple countries, spread the reach of the sport and bring more youngsters into the spotlight.

The World Cup will aim at providing a platform for young and talented players from the grassroots level to enhance their interest in representing their national side in the future tournaments.
