FIG World Cup Finals Canceled Because of Coronavirus


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The finals at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Apparatus World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Two days of finals had been scheduled for this weekend at the National Gymnastics Arena following two days of qualification.

The decision to cancel the finals, set for Saturday and Sunday, was made after the conclusion of the second day of qualifying.

The FIG has not yet confirmed the move but National Federations in France and Canada revealed the decision on social media.

Iranian gymnast Saeed Reza Keekha reached the final of the pommel horse exercises on Friday.
