Iran Willing to Enhance Ties with Senegal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s president expressed hope for the promotion of relations with Senegal in various fields.

Politics

President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday sent a message for his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall to congratulate the West African nation on its Independence Day.

In the congratulatory message, the Iranian president hoped for the expansion of relations and closer cooperation between Tehran and Dakar in all fields of mutual interest considering the determination of the two countries’ top officials.

Rouhani also wished the “friendly and brotherly” Senegalese nation prosperity.

In a meeting with Senegal’s ambassador to Tehran in February, the Iranian president hailed Senegal as a major country that could become the gateway to Iran’s relationship with other African nations.

Stressing the need for interaction between Iranian and Senegalese state-run and private sectors, Rouhani said the two countries can work closer in scientific, cultural, technological and academic fields.
