Coronavirus in Iran: Daily Hospitalizations below 1,500


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at 1,500, the Health Ministry said Friday.

Over the past 24 hours, 11,064 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 1,477 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 124,928, saying the disease has taken the lives of 165 patients over the past 24 hours.

More than 5,388,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,844,500 who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.

Some 4,422 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The Ministry also said that more than 50.37 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 28.29 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 243 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.94 million.
