Shahdab Yazd Wins Title of Iran Volleyball League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shahdab Yazd won the title of the 2021-22 Iran Volleyball Super League on Monday.

Shahdab defeated Paykan 3-0 on Saturday and also beat the team 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18) in the best-of-three basis.

Paykan had brushed off Sepahan in the semifinals, while Shahdab advanced to the final following its straight two victories over reigning Asian club champion Foulad Sirjan. 

The Iranian Volleyball Super League (IVSL) is a professional volleyball league in the country at the top of the Iranian volleyball league system.

It was founded in 1975 as the Pasargard Cup, but after the Iranian Revolution, it was renamed to the First Division. In 1997 the league system was revamped and the Iranian Super League was established.

Paykan Tehran has won the most titles in the new Super League with 12 titles.

Shahdab and Paykan teams will represent Iran at the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in Tehran.
