Iran Reports 34 New Deaths from COVID-19


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran has stood at 34, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran has reached 140,650 after the disease took the lives of 34 patients over the past 24 hours.

The total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 7,194,700 following the detection of 3,125 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 433 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 6,922,600 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,487 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units, it said.

The ministry added that over 64.09 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.19 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.57 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 499 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.2 million.
