FM Decries IAEA’s Unconstructive Resolution on Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned of Tehran’s reaction to the “unconstructive” resolution that the UN nuclear agency’s Board of Governors has passed against Iran.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart in Tehran on Saturday, Amirabdollahian denounced the International Atomic Energy Agency’s unconstructive move to pass the resolution against Iran.

He said the IAEA Board of Governors has ratified such a resolution while a delegation from the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran traveled to Vienna two weeks ago, held a constructive meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, and agreed on closer cooperation between Tehran and the UN nuclear agency.

He said the US has once again misused the IAEA by drafting the anti-Iranian resolution as part of its efforts to impose maximum pressure on Tehran in line with Washington’s “extremely hypocritical policy”.

“We will take the retaliatory measure,” Amirabdollahian warned.

For his part, Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi described dialogue, understanding and peaceful manners as the sole ways to address problems and challenges.

The senior Omani diplomat also rejected any violent and terrorist action, stressing the need to find the reasons for violence.
