Iran Resolved to Address Safeguards Issues Technically


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed Iran’s determination to work with the UN nuclear agency to resolve issues pertaining to the Safeguards Agreement in a technical manner in the shortest possible time.

In a meeting in Tehran on Saturday evening, the Iranian foreign minister and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi discussed the trend of cooperation between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog.

They also underlined the need to strengthen bilateral interactions in the fields the two sides have agreed upon.

Amirabdollahian noted that Iran is firmly determined to resolve the Safeguards issues using technical means as soon as possible.

The IAEA chief also stressed that the agency is ready to resolve all issues using technical means, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Grossi further underlined the need for diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the disputes and welcomed any initiative that would help push forward and finalize the Vienna talks in a fruitful manner.
