Iran, Zimbabwe Cooperate in Supporting Children, Developing Employment


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between Iran and Zimbabwe in backing children socially, observing safety and occupational health, reducing work-related incidents, developing employment and empowering people with disabilities, etc.

The cooperation documents were signed between high-ranking officials of Iran and Zimbabwe in the presence of visiting Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, according to the Iranian Ministry of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare.

During the meeting, a MoU was inked between Iran’s Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Sowlat Mortazavi and Zimbabwean minister of Public Services, Labor and Social Welfare.

Social protection of children, observation of safety and occupational health, reduction of work-related accidents, development of employment and also empowerment of people with the disabilities were of the main topics of documents of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides.

He emphasized that the Iranian trade and economic companies and the Ministry of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare will participate actively in Zimbabwe Economic Cooperation Exhibition.

The 9th Iran-Zimbabwe Joint Economic Commission meeting was held in Tehran in February 2023 in the presence of three Zimbabwean ministers.

The 10th Iran-Zimbabwe Joint Economic Cooperation meeting is going to be held in Zimbabwe in the current year.
