Tehran, Moscow Fairs Ink MoU on Closer Cultural Cooperation


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Cultural officials from Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the 36th edition of Moscow International Book Fair on Friday.

The MoU was inked at the pavilion of the Islamic Republic of Iran between Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) and Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF), as officials from Iran Literature and Book House have taken part in the prestigious cultural event.

Under the MoU, the two sides will provide each other with a free-of-charge pavilion, as large as 27 square meters, for a period of five years.

During the meeting, the Iranian and Russian officials emphasized on developing and expanding cultural cooperation.

They also stressed the need to participate in the book fairs of the two countries and expressed hope that Iranian and Russian publishers would have stronger presence at the exhibitions.

The 36th Moscow International Book Fair kicked off in Moscow on August 30 and will run until September 3.
