Iranian President Inaugurates New School Year


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated the new school year in the country on Saturday, extending his greetings to students at a ceremony at Shahid Amirkamandi School in Baharestan County, Tehran Province.

In his address, Raisi emphasized the pivotal role of teachers and the importance of education, saying teachers must recognize their own worth in the realm of education and upbringing. Adding that Children, too, should pay attention to their teachers.

Raisi highlighted the interplay between families and school, stressing the influential roles both institutions play in shaping students' identities and character.

Furthermore, Raisi emphasized the significance of implementing the educational transformation plan, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s endorsement. He urged educators to drive this transformation through dedication and earnest efforts.

The "Mehr" initiative, involving student participation in suggesting improvements for rural, national, industrial, and mining sectors, was underscored by Raisi.

"Your participatory role is highly important," he affirmed. "You, the students, should feel that you are paying attention to the state of your country, enhancing the sense of responsibility and contributing to nation-building."

Raisi called on parents to actively engage in their children's upbringing, emphasizing the importance of students embodying the Islamic and Iranian way of life.

Addressing education managers and teachers, Raisi urged increased efficiency, encouraging the best utilization of available resources and manpower. He stressed the need to enhance students' academic levels, with a focus on improving previous years' grades.
