Tehran, Hanoi Mull Technical Cooperation in Halal Field


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and Vietnam discussed technical cooperation in the field of halal products.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Luong Quoc Huy met with Head of the Iran Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) for Halal and International Affairs Ebrahim Ebrahimi.

The envoy expressed his satisfaction with the constructive relations between Tehran and Hanoi, emphasizing that the bilateral relations could expand in all areas, especially in the field of halal products.

He pointed to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked between the two countries during the General Assembly meeting of the ISO 2023 held in Australia and called on Iran to forge more cooperation with his country in the field of exchanging experts and technical delegations aimed at increasing the scientific and technical capacities especially in the field of halal products, IRNA reported. 

Ebrahimi, for his part, stated that one of the principles of trade is the acceptance of mutual standards based on internationally accepted standards, adding that this issue facilitates the trade and quick clearance of commercial goods from customs.

He expressed the full readiness of the ISIRI to provide Vietnam with technical assistance and to transfer experiences and know-how for the implementation of joint operational and executive programs, especially establishing halal infrastructure and expanding halal trade between the two countries.
