Iran Ready to Export Medical Equipment to African States: Official


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at the Iranian Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) announced the readiness of the country for the exports of medical equipment and supplies to the African countries.

The secretary of the export policymaking council of the Iranian Food and Drug Administration pointed to the high potentials of the country in manufacturing the advanced medical equipment and added there are 1,700 producers in the country who are busy active in manufacturing the high-quality medical equipment and machinery.

Asef Mahdavi went on to say that the country enjoys high capacity and potential to export the domestically-manufactured medical equipment to the African countries, according to Mehr news agency.

Presently, the medical equipment and supplies manufactured in the country are exported to various countries in the region, Asia and even Europe, he said, adding that suitable grounds have been paved to facilitate the export of the medical supplies to Africa as well.

Iranian producers can help African countries in the field of transferring the technical know-how and technology of manufacturing the medical equipment, he added.
